If the Trump administration successfully removes race and tribal affiliation from the census it would have a profound impact on Indian Country. Many federal programs rely on accurate data of where Native people live to disperse resources.

As states fight over the dwindling Colorado River, tribes are getting left out. 30 federally recognized tribes have legal claims to the Colorado River–many that predate western states. But none have a seat at the table. Last winter, the Fort Mojave Tribe's pump couldn't pull water for four months.

During the cold war, Navajo Nation was ground zero for uranium mining for nuclear weapons. 30 MILLION TONS of uranium ore were taken out of the ground. In this rural area, many families rely on well water for drinking, but a lot of the ground water is contaminated.
