Three games I played last week (and remembered to photo): Mass Transit, Mint Delivery, and Control I really want to play more Control to explore more chaotic card combos. Mint seems to need more space than its tin suggests. We left one unfortunate commuter adrift on a badly designed route 😱
A game of Mass Transit doesn't look like it will get all commuters homeMint Delivery in action, a game that fits in a pocket-sized tin and asks players to deliver...mints!The card game Control out on a table with sleeved cards inviting you to play a round or several

Godzilla Tokyo Clash has probably been my favorite game this summer. I bought this copy on a whim at the Museum of Nostalgia in the spring. Playing 2-player today, my King Ghidorah is in trouble now that Megalon rushed in. I got a nasty triple beam in last round. *screeeeeech*

I stopped by @sidequestbooks.bsky.social this weekend while in the Boston area and picked up these zines. Such a charming shop clearly imbued with care! Thank you for the laughs about whether I would outlive the shop as I decided whether to join the shop loyalty program.

I just made the "implied tablebottom games" joke elsewhere and then proceeded to make it my minute's work to repost other people making the joke here. I do wonder about "table" games. Floor time can be lovely, though. Ah, naming!

Three panel comic. Panel 1: the mutant bear from Annihilation (2018) is sitting and eating at a restaurant table across from a woman. Another woman wearing glasses is standing a short distance away, and says, “oh my gosh! The mutant bear from annihilation!” Panel 2: she continues, “what was Natalie Portman like?” The bear seems slightly put off, and is in the middle of eating some food. Panel 3: the bear says, “um, I’m kinda with a friend.” The woman sitting across from the bear looks visibly annoyed at the other woman’s rude interjection. The woman is glasses says, “ah! Sorry!”

#1 board game pet peeve: A bad rulebook. There are so many ways to go wrong: hard to navigate, ambiguous, not enough examples or pictures, components not labeled, no index, doesn't follow the game flow. Writing a solid rulebook is a skill and an art, even for simple games, and many fall short.

Real king shit. Giles said Trans Rights (Text is hard to read so it’s in the alt)
Two pictures of Anthony Stewart Head with a young trans man and some horses.

neverwhere:

dracofidus:
If you EVER think Anthony Head i anything less than an angel then you'd best remember that t have always been a huge fan of his and we've always had a little contact over the years and he heard I'd come out as Trans and was having a hard time and that I was kind of sad that the photos I had from conventions with him were of me with long hair and no binder and they were all signed to "Sarah" and so he invited me to spend the day with him at his farm und he picked me up from the station and we just hung out and had lunch and he insisted on paying and took loads of photos and had them printed on photo paper the same day so he could sign them to Jay, along with other photos of him as Giles and Uther and he literally spent five hours chatting with me and got all of the pronoun stuff right every time and then he dropped me off at the station gave me a final massive hug, waved me through the ticket barrier and insisted i message him when I got home so he knew i got back safe (More HERE]
