Did you know your MacBook has a sensor that knows the exact angle of the screen hinge? It’s not exposed as a public API, but I figured out a way to read it and make it sound like an old wooden door.

A HISTORIC MILESTONE: For the first time, solar power generated more electricity globally than nuclear, making it the world’s 4th largest power source. In just 5 years, solar output nearly tripled—from 79 TWh (Apr 2020) to 233 TWh (Apr 2025). The energy transition is speeding up. @ember-energy.org

The best feature on Bluesky is to block/mute certain words. This increased the quality of my feed by a lot (trump, elon musk, twitter...). I only wish it would show me the posts as muted instead of completly removing them. This way I could still take a look and I would know how much is muted.

TIL that the CEO of Bluesky is legally named Bluesky
Lantian "Jay" Graber (born 1991) is an American software engineer who has served since 2021 as the CEO of Bluesky, a microblogging social platform created in 2019 by Twitter's Jack Dorsey.Lantian Graber was born in 1991 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of an acupuncturist mother of Chinese descent and a math teacher father of Swiss descent.[1][2] Her mother grew up in China during the Cultural Revolution and emigrated in the 1980s, and named her "Lantian," meaning "blue sky" in Mandarin Chinese, as a wish for her to have "boundless freedom".[1] The similarity between Graber's given name and Bluesky is purely coincidental; Jack Dorsey had chosen the name "Bluesky" for the research initiative before Graber became involved with the project.[3]
