The RNLI has said the abuse of volunteers in Portsmouth has forced it to close the lifeboat station there and stop operating since September 10. Nearby stations have been providing cover to the area instead. One of the UK's largest coastal cities without a lifeboat because of the far-right.

In today's @healthmod.bsky.social meeting we had a very constructive conversation (prompted by @profkatsmith.bsky.social & @clemmiehilloconnor.bsky.social) about not using 'NEET' as a noun. The 'NEET rate' is, I think, similarly problematic (and sounds unhappily like an infectious disease).

Good thread on the Welsh polling: Plaid Cymru and Reform are 29% and 29% in vote share, with a fortnight to go. There is a significant chance that Reform being neck and neck in the polls boosts Plaid significantly in the final campaign stretch.
