Ironically there are “legitimate concerns” you could have about warehousing the unfortunate asylum seekers on a rural military base - it’s not suitable accommodation and will do nothing for their wellbeing or integration or the local community- but acting as if they’re a danger is gutter racism.

How about, as well as ‘Stay and Play’ for kids, we have ‘Snack and Nap’ for grownups? I would take out a membership.

Beginning of the Gulf War. From the perspective of a four year old, dad l disappeared over night with no notice, leaving a family size bar of chocolate on the fridge. It was a while before I realised he had not in fact gone to play golf…

The bad and the good news is although I signed up to help with youth work, my info never made it to the right people so I’m notvolunteering at Greenbelt. Makes organising a social easier though! Are people still interested? How do we pick a good time? #CofEPeeps

Still here! All sorts of up and down life and ordination training stuff going on in the background. Nothing life shattering, just the kind that means you have less time for social media etc. Hoping we can arrange a #CofEPeeps #Grewnbelt meet up. Just waiting to find out when I’m volunteering.

I realised recently that the main pitfall to me learning languages is I went through the English schools system at a point when they only taught us what nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs were, all when we were about ten. Today I’m taking the Khan academy class and grammar and it’s great!

Jewish communities are living in fear amid rising antisemitism, including these appalling arson attacks. We must confront this. At the same time, antisemitism is being weaponised to shut down criticism of the Israeli government. Both are true. Both deeply concerning. Both Antisemitic.

Today is a great moment to reach out in kindness and solidarity to your local Jewish community, be that a synagogue or a group. Remember, the government of Israel doesn’t represent the views of every Jewish person. Supporting your neighbours doesn’t mean you are supporting a foreign power.
