Ironically there are “legitimate concerns” you could have about warehousing the unfortunate asylum seekers on a rural military base - it’s not suitable accommodation and will do nothing for their wellbeing or integration or the local community- but acting as if they’re a danger is gutter racism.

I realised recently that the main pitfall to me learning languages is I went through the English schools system at a point when they only taught us what nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs were, all when we were about ten. Today I’m taking the Khan academy class and grammar and it’s great!

Despite submitting my train tickets by post only just in the nick of time due to ADHD, the train company has refunded me in full. They’ve not even deducted the admin fee they said they would. £40.50 is. a lot and I am feeling very thankful. #TinyJoys

I suppose I spent my late teens and my twenties doing Bible studies and praying in coffee shops etc, so didn’t think anything of taking my prayer book to a coffee shop to pray. Having said that, I’ve met people in south west London on public transport praying the rosary or saying the Qu’ran.

I think even if you are an introvert (me) with an introverted partner, there are definitely things you can take from the list :) There is a lot to be said for structured, scheduled activities. Also, not waiting for others to organise things - even a small gathering can feel scary & also beautiful.

I think the areas St Benedict covers are a great starting point. Community, relationship with God incl prayer, relationships with others rest, work, leisure. I can then think about what I’d do daily, what I’d do weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly etc.
