I’m 54 and I honestly think this is as joyful now as it was when I was 4, in 1976:

I saw the first real signs of autumn in local trees today. All this colour is to come:
Autumnal leaves of many different colours being preserved in glycerin to keep them from drying and decaying

Mysterious message from an eBay seller yesterday. Apparently everything is fine with the weasel...👀 Has hints of 'Grey squirrel is in Gregg's with the trombone'-some kind of secret squirrelly spy action. Bit sad to realise that I think it's a typo - I bid on & won a tiny silver whistle yesterday...

Not begun in a stitchy way yet, but here’s the start of a project I’ve been planning: using Swiss darning to add stitched pixelated ‘tattoos’ to a chunky jumper from eBay. 1st tattoo:my pal Steve the blackbird. Pixelating Steve has really helped my brain today (2nd photo= the yarn I’ll be using):

A small good thought for your Monday in case you’re feeling a bit down: every autumn squirrels forget where they put millions of the acorns they’ve stashed for winter & so plant a load of oak trees by mistake. 🐿️ 🌰 🌳 ✔️ A medieval squirrel with her snack:

Rest in peace, Joe Harkness. I was shocked and gutted when I heard the news. He was a generous, inspirational teacher and such an important writer. He was brutally honest, inclusive and funny too. When I interviewed him last summer (below) he was so full of life. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

I’ve just washed my hair. No big deal for many but mega executive dysfunction, sensory overload, low dopamine & recovering from a breakdown means it’s marathon-ish, plus my hair is high maintenance & needs various unguents*. You might know how it can be. Barnet now no longer like a wizard’s pubes ✔️👍🏼
