Well, it slowed to a crawl with still a long way to go. So we cancelled out, and I’ve brought it home to consider its sinful nature overnight instead. 😏 Hopefully it will be sorted out by morning.😁

pisses me off how ever since ai can make websites, every website for "small open source indie app" and "community database" looks like this and you can just TELL they all used the same ai to vibe code it

This is totally misleading. Teacher pensions aren’t anywhere near the $1M threshold. We need to spread the word. We also need to tell the @no645.bsky.social campaign to respond - from what I’ve been told, they don’t think they need to or should. (Which is bizarre and wrong.)

If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, gun reform, universal child care, and a living wage. And we certainly wouldn't have public executions. The right-wing agenda isn’t about “life.” It's about cruelty.

Does any capital in Europe or the Americas say without equivocation that Beirut or Damascus have the right to defend themselves? When Israel obliterates an entire village in the south of Lebanon or kidnaps a Syrian grandpa, does anyone give the Arabs a MK-84 bomb to hit Tel Aviv with?

Please note that, despite all Musk’s talk of Mars, that’s not what Starship is meant to do. It’s meant to deliver large numbers of ever more powerful satellites into Earth orbit. Musk currently has unchecked, dictatorial control over the most important battlefield technology. And it will get worse.

My Prius does need an oil change - once a year - but the engine hasn't needed a darn thing done to it. My biggest expenses have been replacing tires, worn out power door locks, and a stolen catalytic converter. 🙄 It probably helps that I'm only at the 130,000 mile mark after 23 years of driving. 😁

Just one data point, but I am still driving a 2003 Toyota Prius, and it has *never* needed a big-ticket repair. It’s had new struts, and a new battery - at the 21 year mark. Still gets 35mpg in town. I see others of the same model still around, too. 😏

Bari Weiss' handpicked foreign editor referred to the allegations facing Benjamin Netanyahu as a "sideshow" and told correspondent Holly Williams she was "wrong" to try to mention them in her story, per leaked audio I obtained of Tuesday's heated internal meeting. www.status.news/p/bari-weiss...
"For the record, my biggest concern about the dictated script that was sent to me was not about the death toll. It was about the removal of the allegations specific to Benjamin Netanyahu,” Williams said, in an apparent reference to reports that Netanyahu had received advanced warning that Hamas was planning a deadly attack against Israel.

Raice said she "actually felt really strong" about the decision not to include the reporting, stating that Netanyahu had denied the claims and CBS News had not "independently confirmed those allegations."

"Secondly, I was just in Israel for Sukkot. I have a lot of friends who live there. We're talking about politics the entire time. Everybody was talking about the election. Everybody was talking about Netanyahu and October 7. Nobody was talking about those allegations," Raice added. "And you know why? Because nobody really cares. That is not an issue in the election."

"Those allegations are a sideshow," Raice added. "It's not important, and I just think you got it wrong. And you probably got it wrong because you don't know the story as well as I do. And that's where my experience and my judgment comes in."
