I know a few other games that do a tactical combat grid like this, but for whatever reason, the mention of how it stays centered on the boss—the obvious most important thing—made me think for the first time, you can drop terrain/obstacles on the grid and move them around too. And that’s neat.

I’ve been vaguely aware of this game—I’m sure I got email when it was crowdfunded, I can’t recall whether I actually read about it, and I tend to not find grimdark stuff like this appealing. But this review is making me reconsider; it certainly looks like it has cool ideas in it.

WA State should do the same. And frankly we shouldn't wait until next year. Not having a full-time legislature means we can't act as decisively as we need to in this moment.

“Seattle may be one of the most left-leaning cities in the country,” but as noted there’s a strong undercurrent from the well-to-do to maintain the old status quo that keeps them comfortably in place and everyone else should be politely subservient or quietly go away.

If Katie Wilson hadn't used JumpStart dollars to maintain City services in this budget, she would have been facing a $350M budget deficit for 2027 instead of a $175M deficit. So her choice was between continuing an ongoing suboptimal baked-in practice or plunging the General Fund into chaos.

«describing it as an effort to help create “more accountable, accessible governance.”» The most Nelson’s been involved in such an effort—which was not by her choice—was by losing the last Council election to Foster. What she means by that is trying to push back to the old, useless status quo.

After a very long debate, this amendment was just APPROVED. The vote was 3-2, with CMs Rinck, Foster and Lin in favor and Saka and Kettle against. There are some outstanding concerns around the amendment's exact language, so I would expect additional tweaks when the bill comes to full council.

I’m giving the buffoon Saka no credit for his grandstanding efforts to push this legislation which as reported is largely irrelevant or ineffective, but it’s good to see that sensible people like Rinck can take advantage of it to put in something genuinely helpful for the city.

Update: yesterday, checking Google Maps once again, I discovered Coffeemind in West Queen Anne, which is open until 10 pm daily. It’s kind of out of the way in a quiet residential neighborhood, so I can’t imagine those hours lasting, but for now at least it is another option.

The president ordering USPS to illegally throw out millions of ballots is at least on par with what he tried to do for 2020, and in big ways it's worse. It's another attempted self-coup, trying to create a fake Congress. That he's even attempting it is already a deadly serious constitutional crisis.

I’d like to see documentation about the supposed “lots of wealthy progressives” in Seattle. It sure seems like “wealthy” directly correlates with the reactionaries who oppose any kind of progressive improvement in the city, upholding the small-town status quo that keeps only them in comfort.
