One of these is an oversized, elitist mobility vehicle. The other is an e-cargo bike. One tears up our local infrastructure and is a threat to people outside of it. The other weaves into the urban fabric, accomplishing a lot and asks for very little.

Urbanist Philomena Cunk. To keep cyclists safe, the council will sometimes paint a thin stripe of green paint on the edge of the road. This is very thoughtful, because it gives delivery drivers a brightly colored VIP parking space to wait in while they drop off a parcel.

One of the biggest joy-killers of US cycling infrastructure is how narrow it is. Forcing everyone into a single-file line ruins the experience. Cycling is social, and our paths need to be wide enough to actually enable that.

Today, on the school I spotted a new long tail cargo bike arriving at school with kids on the back. I know they had a trial of a Limerick cargo bike via @pfitzp.bsky.social earlier in the year - it is so great to see how trials do result in people swapping the car for a bike to do the school run.
