Got around the Cook medical run this afternoon, no pb but happy with the controlled run. Such a lovely route. Also.. I believe you can call yourself an Inter-county distance runner once you get the medal!

My Dad was handy when it came to making iron gates (both agricultural and ornate ones). His welder is an old school oil filled one & not very portable so a few years back I bought a small stick Javic welder. Just because I wanted to learn how it was done and fix stuff on the farm.

Whenever I need to call DAFM, every time I come off the call I have to commend how good the staff are. Always on the ball, have all the relevant information available to them, understand the query and resolve very quickly.

Not for the first time - a car bipped me to move on at this junction today. The turn right filter light was red. This traffic light sensor only senses when a car is in the lane so I'm delighted when a car rolls up behind me because I know it will turn green.

Ok Bluesky it's rare I ask for help. But this time I need huge help from the #osint community and #speirgorm #speirghorm, and everyone who follows me. I have a goal to raise up to €100,000 for a long time friend and colleague who is going to leave us.

Big salute to the gentleman who was out for a walk and reading a real book in the industrial estate this morning. I was out for a run and had a double take when I saw him! #Oldschool

Contractor arranged to cut the 'meadows' for silage on Monday. The yield is going to be terrible but can't leave it grow any more and don't have extra cattle to eat it. The weather is turning for the worst and there's a small window next week. Now or never.

Coyote vs. Acme is such a great movie. Beep beep! I feel nowadays movies are just meh - this is definitely an exception.

Added this magician to the collection when it was on promotion. Didn't have a real use for it until today - repairing/reroofing a galvanised shed. Using self tapping roof screws it automatically (magic!) changes between impact and screwdriver... Made the job so easy.

Stats to confirm what we already know. The fields haven't recovered, 2nd cut of silage will be way down on previous years (it won't be ready for a while either!) 'Summer 2026 was hottest on record, says Met Éireann ' www.rte.ie/news/ireland...

When I visiting friends in Germany they had a shopping basket on the back of their bikes.. I thought.. that's handy and so I got one for the cargo bike. All the kids school bags go into it! With a simple click the basket pops out and you can head into a shop to pickup the bits and pieces.

Got the bike back from a good service, new brake pads etc. It's good to go for the school run starting Monday. Last year, we had a loan from @limerickecargobike.bsky.social for Sep & Oct while we waited for delivery. Pedalled 2000km since we got it. I expect the same if not more again this year.

I have a 10km run this weekend. Very much unprepared for it. Just a few slow 5/6km. I have my excuses though.. I'm not a fan of running in the heat/sun so I substituted the runs for ice-cream. I think it was a fair substitution considering the fantastic summer we had.

It's a pity there's rain over the bank holiday. I'm glad it isn't a downpour. That kind of rain would just run off the land. Soft rain is what is needed. Hopefully the rain doesn't ruin too many weekended plans while the farmers get some rain (our farm in the west definitely needs it).

Ireland needed that score - but I can't see them winning today. Too many mistakes and bad decisions in the first half. #nzlire

Why did England take off Gordon? They went too negative/defensive and got punished. Twice. Then on the 95th min bring on Toney and Rashford. On the other hand the Argentina subs worked.

Having been in Germany during the red alert heat warning, the weather we are having now is absolutely beautiful. Warm with a lovely breeze. The farmer in me does quietly say: "could do with a drop of rain.." I'm enjoying this weather and not going to complain - the winter was long, cold and wet.

A little talked about consequence of climate change is joint injuries, such as when you're carrying a fan between rooms and it catches on the door causing its metal stand to clap down on top of your kneecap.

Disappointed for Clare.. they just ran out of steam. Couldn't get going after the penalty when I thought they would kick on. Galway v Limerick it is in two weeks.
