I really do keep buying these big-ass books, huh? I still haven't gotten to Tom's Crossing 😭 anyways, unless @jeffvandermeer.bsky.social drops a big tome of a book out of nowhere, I think I'm safe from buying any more super large books for a while 😅

Not worrying about legacy makes your interactions with others richer because if legacy isn't the motivator, you are interacting with each other because it is worth it right NOW, in the moment!

They quoted me in this New Yorker piece about AI today. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...

“Let’s say there’s a world or time line I exist in where A.I. has been subject to regulation. It is ethical. It has no footprint environmentally,” the novelist Jeff VanderMeer, a prominent critic of A.I., told me over the phone. “With those guardrails in place, would I read an A.I. book? All I can say is no. And the reason is, in part, because I want to read something coming from a particular mind.” Using A.I., he said, “feels like a betrayal of the whole point of why you’re a writer.”

It’s insane that people in Congress are paid over $174K a year in taxpayer dollars whilst making millions of dollars from insider trading whilst getting 18 vacations a year as Americans all over the country struggle to pay for rent, gas and groceries.

Yeah until gamers reach out to their representatives wherever they live, nothing will chnage. These boomer ass politicians don't care about games personally, we need to MAKE them care about digital ownership and consumer protections across marketplaces.

I'm finally getting to play through the game Replaced. It is a super cool story, great art design and music, but boy if it isn't wrapped in the most frustrating gameplay. The timing of everything feels just a fraction too slow, pathfinding is nearly impossible in some spots, and it gets repetitive.
