Some people choose to wear white balaclavas and sunglasses & go harass indigenous folks & people of color. I choose to spend time trying to be a more informed and decent person & explain to my 4yo why we wear orange shirts today and tomorrow, and help others do the same. You always have choices.

I've decided to host open door dinners every other Friday from now through January to deal with the general Vancouver antisociality combined with the harshness of winter. Which was a great excuse to come up with 12 themes:

I think a lot about how when my partner had our kid she (and he!) (and I, admittedly, on cushions on the ground next to her, but nonetheless) stayed in the hospital for ... 3 days I think? ... And it cost us like $40 for parking and $20 to feed me. This would not have been the case in the US.
