It's a good thing when politicians propose new revenue tools on the campaign trail! They almost never do because they think people hate taxes, but also taxes buy all the things we like. If this election becomes a referendum on a new tax bracket, I think that would be a good thing.

Wow Not a single overdose at the #DULF Compassion Club. And using DULF CC massively reduced overdoses elsewhere That's amazing. Think the big reason is that, unlike most other OPS's they bought drugs direct off dark web & tested for contaminants and purity AND allowed users to control dose

DULF CC has been most successful single intervention into BC toxic drug crisis-inclusive of stimulant & opioid use. medical system doesn't have tools to keep up with drug trade under prohibition. my POV is ppl deserve regulated access to drugs they actually use with autonomy over use/potency

Pete Quily @petequily.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
Too bad. Has any jurisdiction implemented a #SafeSupply system that has worked reasonably well for most drug users and has been relatively sustainable over time vs a few months? I think that the ways #TeamHalfAss bcndp botched #SafeSupply means it probably won't be tried in Can for a long time:(

potency and dose are part of it as well as only institutionalized points of access that came w surveillance (urine screens, high # of prescriber appts/waiting rooms, quick to be cut off if not adhering). program was positive for some, but agree with Guy it wasn't set up to undercut toxic supply

what about the stimulant safe supply, was Ritalin or Adderall strong enough to be useful? Think one reason why stimulant #safesupply was so small was most BC docs not trained on diagnosing ADHD let alone treating it w/ stimulant meds. So wouldn't be comfortable treating SUD people w/ stimulants

Meta-analysis of 6 studies under 12 years old reported 13% with indications of ADHD. Meta-analysis of 5 studies 12-18 years old, found an ADHD rate of 43%. ADHD rate among homeless teens was 3.3 times greater than among homeless kids #ADHDAwarenessMonth www.adhdevidence.org/blog/meta-an...
The team concluded, “The review of 13 studies revealed that ADHD is common in homeless children and adolescents, suggesting that homelessness may contribute to the development or exacerbation of ADHD symptoms. Conversely, ADHD with other comorbidities may increase the likelihood of homelessness. Reintegrating these children and adolescents into care systems and ensuring access to public health interventions tailored for homeless families and youth is imperative for breaking the cycle of homelessness and improving long-term trajectories.”

In other words, this review not only confirmed a strong link between homelessness and ADHD in children and youth, but also suggested a complex, cyclical relationship. Providing tailored health care and support for these vulnerable groups is crucial to interrupt this cycle and help improve their future outcomes.

But Doctors in Canada, America, Australia, New Zealand etc are able to diagnose ADHD IF they have been properly trained on ADHD.
I don't think UK doctors are less able to learn how to diagnose and medically treat ADHD if they have mandatory
CME Courses on ADHD than their counterparts in other countries.
Why does Starmer's Conservative Labour Govt refuse to require ALL doctors And Nurse Practitioners to have mandatory CME Courses on ADHD so they can diagnose ADHD?
There are not enough psychiatrists & psychologists to diagnose ADHD in the UK
Are any ADHD organizations or ADHD bloggers/vloggers encouraging ADHD people to contact their MPs and explain why the Labour govt should stop violating the human rights of people with ADHD and allow them timely access to competently trained doctors and nurse practitioners for ADHD assessments and medication treatment?
And reduce the underdiagnosis and misdiagnosis of ADHD with dysthymia, depression and anxiety disorders?
Comorbidity is the norm with ADHD, not the exception.

Access to ADHD Care Webinar. Ask The Expert CHADD. #ADHDAwarenessMonth chadd.org/webinars/und...

Carolyn Lentzsch-Parcells, MD

View on YouTube

Accessing ADHD care can feel confusing, frustrating, and overwhelming — especially when providers are hard to find, waitlists are long, or care gets interrupted by life changes. This Ask the Expert discussion was created to help families and adults feel supported, informed, and less alone as they navigate these challenges.

In this recorded conversation, CHADD is joined by Carolyn Lentzsch‑Parcells, MD a board‑certified pediatrician who specializes in adolescent and young adult health and has lived experience with ADHD. Together, they explore common barriers to finding ADHD care and offer practical guidance for moving forward when the system feels difficult to navigate.

In this session, viewers will learn:

Why accessing ADHD diagnosis and treatment can be challenging
Where to start when feeling stuck or overwhelmed
How to find qualified, evidence‑based ADHD providers
What to do when providers don’t return calls or have limited availability
How to plan ahead for transitions in care, such as moves or aging out of pediatric services
How to identify quality ADHD care and avoid misinformation
Why community and connection are important parts of the care journey
This session is intended for parents, caregivers, adults with ADHD, and professionals seeking reliable information and reassurance about accessing ADHD care.

CAROLYN LENTZSCH-PARCELLS, MD

Carolyn Lentzsch-Parcells, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician and an assistant professor of pediatrics at the TCU Burnett School of Medicine. As a physician with ADHD herself, she has a special interest in caring for patients and families with ADHD and learning issues. Dr. Lentzsch-Parcells regularly speaks to parent, student, and professional audiences on subjects such as parenting, ADHD, depression, anxiety and stress, adolescent development, sexuality, and preparing for college.
