There's like 5 good posts per day on any given platform and I trust my friends to send them to me directly at this point

Like I used to reach for this app like a genuine addict, and Instagram and tumblr, and now I open any of them and it feels the exact same as when someone hands me a cigarette. I just don't really want it and if I do light it up for 2 seconds I feel nauseous and sick and wonder why I ever did this

I know this is news to exactly no one but I am amazed at how much healthier I am just not being on social media and not constantly exposed to "you're ugly, but here's how to fix it!" ads and my peers bickering over stupid shit and 24/7 nsfw that I CANNOT filter out and shitty news all day long

Yesterday several friends came over for some hours and yapped about our shared hyperfixation while I sat at a sewing machine pinning and sewing together a big goofy dragon arm for them Finally figured out what I was missing before -- I needed this feeling of community + actual belonging so much

Crunchyroll started as a piracy website that would steal the work of fansub groups and lock it behind paywalls, which caused Fansub groups to literally encode messages during the "Brought to you in part by these sponsors" segments, warning viewers that if you paid for the subs, you got scammed

Remember, kids! Hating on workers who want better working conditions is boot licking 101. Flight attendants are literally not paid until the doors close on the plane. If you showed up to work at 9am but didn't start getting paid until 11am, you'd feel some kinda way, too.

Another Subnautica observation: I know it is not entirely optimal and I am sure I will run out of stuff to read eventually, but I am enjoying the early-ish gameplay loop of doing stuff during the day then hiding in my little submarine thing at night to read alien fish lore. Cozy ass horror ass game

The word selfie was invented in 2002, but in 1999, Final Fantasy gave us the RPG character most likely to take/post selfies in the history of video games, and her name was Selphie. And yet somehow some people still don’t think that the world is a beautiful miracle
