Today toddler dearest broke our oven door by pulling it so hard she yanked it right off its hinges. Fortunately we've been able to mend it - I think!! Roast chicken tomorrow IF the heat actually stays in.

Hello Bluesky, it's my 7th wedding anniversary :-) The weather today is remarkably similar, although we were in south London that day and in Sweden now: cloudy, grey but bright, plenty of gusty wind. I am dressed a lot more sloppily, husband's in work meetings, I'm meal-planning for daughter.

Ooof. Never judge parents whose toddler escapes in a zoo or out of a park. Mine vanished in the time it took me to take off sandals. Probably under 5 seconds. Ran around children's museum screaming for her. She was just having a great time exploring, of course. Cat level indifference to my terror

About time the UK got familiar with this. It's very well known in Sweden and Finland, for example. Finnish online newspapers are full of pro-Russia, anti-Europe comments, who make very recognisable grammatical errors and stop posting at 5pm Russian time. I expect they'll use LLMs for grammar now ...

Often, when I take my daughter out, someone will tell me about their child or brother or cousin with Down's syndrome, and they will almost always speak of them with great love and admiration, and it's wonderful :) Happened again this morning - this case another preschool mum :)

What on earth is happening?

This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.

OK peeps, one small thing the world needs is a widely available vegetarian equivalent of a Hawaii pizza. Pizza is (not always but usually) better with pineapple, and it needs something salty/rich as a counterbalance. Why should only carnivores get the delicious pineapple? Make it happen.

I think she'd be really disappointed. I didn't become a teacher, writer or researcher (not permanently anyway), and she'd think having my own flat and a kid sound dull. She was too young to realise what enormous things those are. She'd be surprised I was living in Sweden and pleased re my husband!

Last May or June, I was getting some potatoes out of the cupboard when I found that one had turned into more sprout than potato. And we had a huge empty plant pot on the balcony (that once contained our beloved palm plant, killed by fungus gnats). So I planted it out. It grew about a metre tall.
