A major point. Evangelical Protestants really should start examining WHY they find their own denomination so hollow that they need to appropriate everyone else’s customs. The number of evangelicals in the South who have exclaimed “You’re Jewish? We aren’t but we host a Passover Seder.” Well stop.

Whenever I'm in LGBTQ spaces, it's never like this though. There's so much solidarity among everyone. The anti side is frustrated it hasn't worked that well yet but they're not going to stop. They're going to astroturf the divide narrative as much as possible and put all the money behind it.

One of the ways the anti trans side were so successful in the UK was by sidelining mermaids and Stonewall through manufactured scandal while elevating the astroterf group LGB Alliance. The goal is the same, divide and conquer to roll back all LGBTQ rights, not just trans people.
