I ended up updating my old Translator license for $20 to test it out and - yes - it does actually read the CD3000 disk images, and convert from AIFF to Akai sample files, and vice versa. It even does keymaps, etc but I don’t really need that

Thought this was going great until the last 30 minutes or so. In true Cronenberg style, the initial concept works within the film’s logic so you go along with it. But then it runs out of ideas, and drops jarringly into stupid OTT guff; an unsatisfying, messy third act that undoes all the good stuff
