Cheating was OK because trickle down. Fck off.
The money flowed around football. It made a lot of other clubs richer. It helped teams everywhere and especially in the Premier League.
These have been some of the arguments used by those backing Manchester City in the media and online since the verdicts declaring the club guilty came in and an appeal was announced. The suggestion is that there was a net benefit to the game as a whole, and in particular the clubs to whom Manchester City paid big transfer fees.

Badenoch strips some meat off the “dinosaur bone” and is unapologetic. She wants MPs in the next parliament who will deliver her agenda. “This is about me showing that anyone who comes in and then doesn’t do these things is dishonest. We don’t want these people in the party.” Warming to her theme, she adds: “This is not a purity test. But if you don’t want to do this stuff, then just wait until another time when I’m not in charge.”

“It’s just very hard for a person like that to decide they are really going to retire,” said retired University of Delaware law professor Charles Elson. “Being 65 years old today is like being 55 was 30 years ago.”“There will always be tension in a set up like that,” Elson said. “It’s like Prince Charles waiting for his mother to die. You can’t set your own priorities, because there’s someone else in charge.”

Obligatory tiny violin joke. But also this is super interesting.... Private equity dealmakers are missing out on personal windfalls from winning bets. Now some are looking outside of the industry to reinvent themselves www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...
Sloan Klein, an executive and career coach with a focus on private equity, said she’s had more calls from investors looking to chart a new path.

“These people have modeled their financial futures on a reality that isn’t materializing now,” Klein said. “And that’s really stressful.”

Higher up the chain, some senior professionals are leveraging up so they can meet financial obligations despite the liquidity squeeze, borrowing against future expected carry and hard assets like vacation homes in the Hamptons.
