Am I wrong for throwing an "UnWedding"

44m single and childless and I have an idea for something I want to do next year. I've only shared it with one person who immediately flew off the handle.
Context: At 44 l've been in at least 8 weddings, I've been to countless engagements parties, bridal showers, weddings, gender reveals, baby showers, kids birthdays and more. I've sponsored my people's kids in their jogathons, school fundraiser, etc.
Resolution: I want to throw a "Fun Uncle Shower,"
"Single Life Soirée" the "UnWedding" of the century. I want to create a registry and send invites to anyone who I have ever attended or funded the above events for. My take, if I took 3 days out of work, rented a tux, flew across the country, and bought you a breadmaker, I think you could throw $50 my way or buy me a Starbucks gift card. To be clear it's not just about the money. It's about single people being asked time and time again to hand over their time and money because two people are having intercourse regularly. Single people often pay all their own bills, and have less disposable income, but get guilted into traveling to see people with kids because "it's easier", they get ostracized from friend groups for not being a couple or parent, until their kid is selling wrapping paper. It's time to take a stand. 45, single, no kids? You get a cuarenta y cinceñera. AITA??

Alicia-san (@socialanigirl), who wrote the article currently drawing attention among Japanese indie game creators, interviewed us when Schrödinger's Call first appeared at BitSummit. I am truly grateful to her. I've read her articles in English-language media, and I am so impressed by how she introduces Japanese pop and subculture in a way that truly resonates with Western readers. She has also written for The Japan Times about "2.5D theater," a theatrical culture that stages adaptations of Japanese manga and anime. "2.5D" holds deep significance in my own career. In fact, it was Nelke Planning, a stage production company and pioneer of "2.5D," that brought me to Kyoto in the first place. If I hadn't moved to Kyoto, I wouldn't have made games, and Schrödinger's Call certainly wouldn't exist. (That's a long story for another time, though.)

Back to the article: much of the Japanese pop and subculture known overseas actually consists of works that were already famous within Japan. They reached their current status through the passionate efforts of dedicated overseas fans who researched and shared them, along with Japanese companies expanding globally, much like Godzilla or Mario. On the other hand, there are countless indie games in Japan that are still relatively unknown domestically, yet have a distinct and undeniable presence in the Japanese indie game scene. To borrow the article's phrasing, these are certainly not games that will "go viral" overnight. But rest assured, an increasing number of us Japanese indie creators are working hard to learn English and taking on the challenge of appealing to both domestic and international audiences at once. For creators like us, journalists like Alicia-san, who understand Japan and share it with the world, are incredibly important. Thank you so much for writing such a wonderful article.

A mighty selection of five beat sticks. The first is an arming axe with a scalloped bit and generally made of blackened still on a leather wrapped wood handle. The second one is a flanged mace made entirely of blued steel, with a cord wrapped handle bracketed by two small disc guards. The third one is a warhammer with a steel head made up of a long piercing pike on one side and a two-pronged fork-looking hammer on the other. It is held on a wood handle with gilded fittings, and the grip is made of a richly dyed leather. The fourth beat stick is a long pole hammer topped with a spear head, with two curved quillions sprouting off the half way point of the haft which itself is reinforced for most of its length by a languette. Every bit of metal is browned with age and patina as well as featuring the occasional spot of rust. The last one is a Napoleonic sapper axe but medievalised for her pleasure. It features a long axe bit made of polished steel, with a stout spike on the reverse side, mounted on a beefy wooden handle decorated with brass studs and fittings, the later being embossed with lettering.
