How is a "specifically focussed GE" going to be defined? It seems impossible to use this as a mechanism in which the result is then accepted as binding definitive judgement, because there will always be other issues in play.

I'm glad to see Bob Doris MSP recognised in this way. He has worked for over a decade in parliament to raise the profile and support improvement of palliative care.

He seems like living proof that vast wealth doesn't bring you happiness. If he is so miserable about the state of the country why doesn't he use some of his money to fix some pot holes, fund some Sure Start centres and build some industrial-scale tidal power schemes in the Pentland Firth?

There is no middle ground with the kind of people who attack the RNLI. We don’t need to ‘listen’ to them. We need to tell them where to go.

There are selfish dangerous cyclists and selfish dangerous drivers. The latter are more dangerous but that doesn't excuse the former. And then there are selfish dangerous media outlets which having been spewing forth "road wars" narratives for years. Because we are all poised to click and rant...

Time is running out to get the early bird rate at our conference. I think it's a really interesting line up which will speak to all sorts of relevant challenges, whether or not you are working in pallaitive care. Relevant right across the UK and beyond (and Edinburgh is easily accessible).

A strategic error on by proponents of a change in the law to bring back a virtually identical Bill about which there were well-founded concerns on both sides of the debate. Many MPs able to conclude whilst there was perhaps some Lords fillibuster there were also amendments addressing major flaws.

It seems like proponements of a change in the law made a fatal strategic error in bringing back a virtually identical Bill about which there were genuine concerns.

A dark blizzard of disinformation is warping the public’s perception of our great city. But we know the truth: our homicide rate is lower than every major US city, neighbourhood crimes are down and we’ve been ranked #1 city in the world 11 years in a row. My piece for The Times.

The full programme for our conference is now out, and the early bird rate is still running. If you work for one of our member organisations (most NHS, all IJBs, hospices, many other 3rd sector & prof associations) you get a substantial disount. Plus the line up is great and v broad relevance!
