Third book on the Women’s Prize for Fiction longlist finished. I hadn’t heard of Amma by Saraid de Silva before the prize and I hope this brings her work to more people. Really enjoyed this despite being slightly weary of the “three generations of women” structure in general.

Hot proofs! Today I’ll be packaging up proofs for an @atlanticbooks.bsky.social lead 2025 title, The Savage, Noble Death of Babs Dionne by Ron Currie. Babs is a doting grandmother and vicious crime matriarch. Her youngest daughter is missing and now the whole town will feel her wrath.
A book called The Savage, Nobel Death of Babs Dionne with the title in large red block print. A huge crow dominates the cover. The strapline reads ‘she’ll tear your heart out’.The back cover of the proof for The Savage, Noble Death of Babs Dionne by Ron Currie. It reads: three things matter to Babs Dionne more than life itself. 1. Her daughters 2. Her drug empire. 3. The women who have had her back for more than 60 years. But her work has caught the attention of a murderous stranger. It seems one way or another people want her to retire. And now her youngest daughter has gone missing…
