I saw some people talking about that online, but not until after I'd finished it. I did feel there was a lot of repetition of certain ideas or events. And I hated that there weren't any footnotes or even a bibliography. It did get me thinking in a new way about some of the events though.

Don't ask me how, but I forgot to put Dungeon Crawler Carl book 4 in Goodreads when I finished it, so, add that to the list.

In the vein of "public libraries could never be created today," a pitch for a calculator would get you thrown out of the boardroom. What do you mean, it just maths? Where are the ads supposed to go? How does it send usage telemetry back if it doesn't even have wifi? There isn't even a leaderboard.

Yes, absolutely. I can look back on my life and see, now that I know what to look for, that I've obviously always had this, but managed to just soldier on. Then I hit my 40s and perimenopause and I feel like my entire ability to work around it just collapsed.

This is Nazi rhetoric, full stop. It's not only a call to instigate a race war in the United States, but it's reminiscent of historic European justifications used to incite pogroms against Jews. People who say things like this are incredibly dangerous, as there is nothing they won't eventually do.

Asked specifically where he diverges from Anthropic and its CEO Dario Amodei, Altman said, “we believe that the world should accept some bad things happening for the benefits of this technology and people having the agency.”

This is the reaction I was hoping for when I found this Helldivers shirt for Aiden's birthday. 🤣
A 15 year old boy (birthday tomorrow) laughing very very hard after unwrapping a rolled up t-shirt. He recognized what was on it even before unrolling it.15 year old boy holding up a black t-shirt with two Helldivers hugging that says "Hugs spread DEMOCRACY" while his little brother looks on.Now the 15-year-old is wearing the Helldivers t-shirt and opening a present from his brother.15-year-old boy smiling while about to open a large cube shaped present wrapped in birthday paper. In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
