Ed has tracked down where Ned has been holding Stede hostage, and now he needs to do something drastic to save him.
“Let him go,” Ed ordered, gun raised and aimed.
Ned laughed and held his prisoner a little closer. He had a manic look about him - maybe one that conveyed he knew the jig was up, but Ed knew better than to expect him to give in so easily. He was holding his hostage by the hair whilst pressing a gun to his temple, taking slow, calculated steps backwards so Ed didn't have a clear shot.
