Pretty much everything anti bike or bike lane or safety argument seems to come down to "Bikes exist. And I don't want them to." Here in the Northeast US it's even worse. At least in the pacific northwest it was more bike friendly and the best of all was Vancouver BC

Sidewalks that dump pedestrians into the street for the benefit of turning cars is hostile design. It shouldn't be allowed design in any proper city. 90° corners direct behavior and force motorists to slow their speed and pay attention. This is how you create safe streets.

I genuinely do not understand people who want to drive everywhere and park for free at their destination but insist on living in San Francisco, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington DC. The other 99.5% of the country has what you want with much lower housing prices. Move there!

Today I had to stare down a woman who lives around the corner from me because she crossed a double yellow in a curve, nearly hitting an oncoming car (I had taken the lane going 18ish). About 15 seconds later she pulled into her driveway.

One thing about Copenhagen is that there's tons of dense housing but you *never* find it fronting a busy road with cars racing past, which describes about 90% of the apartments in the US. They manage to make it feel tucked away, private, cozy. (These are all from Sluseholmen, my dream neighborhood.)
