The only workaround I’ve found (in instances when URL archival attempts are successful) appears to be: (a) archive page ↳(b) return to top Wayback Machine page ↳ (c) enter original URL into search bar ↳ (d) open recent archive from calendar of captures ↳ (e) save via archive icons on capture toolbar

hey @archive.org @waybackmachine.bsky.social: I’ve been redirected to the below error page all week—frequently when trying to save webpages, & unilaterally when attempting to check both the snapshot and screenshot of successfully archived URLs. Is there an ETA for restoration of this functionality?
Error page to which users are redirected when attempting to access the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. The message on the page reads: “Temporarily Offline. Internet Archive services are temporarily offline. Please check our official accounts, including Twitter/X, Bluesky, or Mastodon for the latest information. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

It would be useful if some government or private entity were to host a blue-chip commission to look at the data on the public safety tradeoffs involved in the installation and use of Flock cameras. Whatever views you have, it's an important issue, & real data & analysis is good.

I don’t want to be too sensationalist about this but also I’m the least violent person in the world and I think if someone said this to my face I’d hit them
"A physical book is a delivery mechanism for information," it continues.
"Once that information has been extracted and encoded into an Al model, the delivery mechanism has served its purpose. What remains is paper, ink, and binding material. The book is not destroyed. Its value has migrated.
The paper returns to the material cycle; the knowledge enters the intellectual one."

For many years, people didn’t randomly film others in public—not because we didn’t have the technology, but because the social contract said you didn’t do that. That’s why Meta is going full court press on their PR and celebrity endorsements. They remember how people ran google glass outta town.

Agree. The inclusion of the text specifying “between one and twelve” appears to make clear that the subscript error was indeed a typo. Curious whether the court’s ruling here is, in some manner, an implicit way for the court to admonish the attorney for filing such a sloppy application?
