Somehow when a pipe installed by my apartment complex fails, it’s on me to pay up to $500 out of pocket until I hit the deductible on my insurance. Maybe through some convoluted logic it makes sense, but it feels like a scam

Welp my apartment partially flooded today due to a burst pipe in the walls. We dripped the faucets and everything and it wasn’t even below freezing temps anymore. I was WFH and able to save the expensive stuff. Now’s a good time as any to check your renters insurance is active just in case
