It never stops being important that, no matter what the subject, politicians like Farage, Trump & Rubio are entirely untethered from the most basic requirements of honest discourse. They might turn out to be telling the truth sometimes but only ever in the spirit of stopped clocks.

What’s despicable from our rightwing press/media/Chris Mason… is the hideous eagerness they have to be disloyal to a leftwing British PM in his dealings with Trump while Farage’s sycophancy, MAGA-money and Trump-styled policies - which should utterly discredit him - are seen as selling points.
Right-wing papers, for their part, have developed a curious celebratory tone whenever Trump attacks a British prime minister, as if any lingering sense of patriotism has utterly deserted them. They focused on areas of disagreement, with a framing that emphasised Burnham's submissive posture.
"Burnham bows to Trump on Chagos," The Daily Telegraph said.
The BBC's Chris Mason reported on events as if he were speaking about any other US president: "As I crouched between the cameras, determined to catch Donald Trump's eye and ask a question, I listened to a President seeking to be magnanimous." You would never have known that just moments earlier this man had threatened to eradicate a people.

TV HIGHLIGHTS
72 Up
The award-winning documentary series continues, charting the progress of one posh little boy, Nigel, over the years.
The last time we saw him was over a week ago in 36
Up when he had been given £36 million out of the blue.
In the latest instalment Nigel is given another £36 million, making the total donation a jaw-dropping £72 million.
This is a life changing moment for the former prep school boy who was recorded in the first episode singing the Horst Wessel song and coming up with charming but embarrassing comments about admiring Hitler.
As the clock moves forward
to 72 Up, viewers now see a completely different Nigel from the one we have come to know so well over the years
- from Europe-hating MEP to Brexit-promoting campaigner to the triumphant bin-defeating statesman of today. It's been a roller-coaster ride for Nigel
- and indeed the viewer - and this remarkable series ends with a poignant and moving climax in a Clacton oyster bar, where the older but no wiser Nigel faces the prospect of being Prime Minister and/or going to jail after criminal proceedings.
EYE VERDICT: "Boring, boring, Boring! Nothing to see here
- put a sock in it, love."

(Insert photo of him slurping up oysters)

Reform UK Is Now a
Wholly-Owned
Subsidiary of the Corrupt Crypto Industry
As criminal investigations into Reform's funding continue, much of the British press continues to give a free pass to Nigel Farage's shady funders

Photo: Bitcoin Magazine's Frank Corva holds hands with Nigel Farage as he holds up a copy of his proposed Cryptocurrencies and Digital Finance Bill in Las Vegas.Starmer and Burnham's governments have left the door wide open to Delo, Harborne and other crypto billionaires to sweep in and effectively buy up one of our major political parties.
This in turn has an impact on the reporting, which broadly continues to treat these donations as being a massive boon for Farage, rather than being the incredibly alarming evidence of potentially criminal behaviour that it actually is.
This all really matters.
Because whilst the recent reporting of Farage's funding woes appears to have caused the party to dip slightly in the polls, we are still a long way from the general election, at which point the tens of millions of pounds supplied by Reform's shady crypto donors could prove to be an absolute gamechanger.

Music to our ears. Farage has made a total fool of himself and turned the volume up *himself* on all the many investigations into his own and Reform’s dodgy dealings. That’s not prime minister material that’s someone ridiculous. Someone who needs to run away…. or go to jail.
Of all the seats currently held by Reform, Clacton should be by far the safest. At the EU referendum 70% of local people voted for Brexit, with 96% of the current population now white and 53% of them aged over 50. If all was going well for the Reform leader, this would be somewhere where he would absolutely clean up, and yet when faced with a single rival, who is best known for wearing a bin on his head,
Farage ended up with a significantly smaller percentage of the vote than the Conservatives achieved in the constituency under Boris Johnson.
It was, in short, a humiliation and it was a humiliation which explains perfectly why he refused to turn up in person in order to be associated with it.

Farage odds on to hold Clacton seat but nationwide poll backs Binface

Nigel Farage is expected to hold on to his Clacton Parliamentary seat with the odds placed at 1-100 following a boycott from the main political parties.

While most bookmakers have Far-age down to win 1-100, rather than the early 1-7 odds before his main opposition dropped out, the latest polling shows he would be beaten by Count Binface if the whole nation was voting.
Polling by More in Common shows that 37 percent of Britons would prefer to be represented by the self-professed "intergalactie space war-rior" dressed in a long silver cape and dustbin-shaped helmet, while 32 per cent would back Farage.
But the likely victory in Clacton has led Parage to believe he could
"replicate this level of support across Essex", with Tory leader Kemi Badenoch's seat of North West Essex in his sights.
He told The Telegraph that Reform will "pump big resources" into Essex, suggesting that halfthe Shadow Cabinet - including the opposition leader - could lose their seats at the next election.
Badenoch recently said in a message to Clacton residents that they
"deserve better" than Farage, criti-cising the "needless election" and adding that he should "not be ex-empt" from the Parliamentary rules.
His decision to force a bv-election by standing down last month to hold a "people versus the establishment" vote may have backfired. The opposition branded it a
"media cireus" and an attempt to evade scrutiny, as stepping down as an MP paused an investigation by the parliamentary standards watchdog into his finances.
The Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, had been investigating undeclared donations, including a £5m gift from Thai-based cryptocurrency billionaire Harborne.

That investigation was paused when Farage resigned his seat, but will resume if he wins the by-election.
If the Parliamentary watchdog rules against him, he could face a second by-election - this time, against all the major political parties.
