George C Scott famously refused to film the flag-backdrop speech because he knew if it opened the film, the scene would overshadow the story about General Patton - a batshit, antisemitic, squeaky-voiced, warmonger. The director lied and told him the speech would appear later in the movie.
George C Scott appears in battle uniform, wearing a full regalia of fruit salad and sashes plus helmet, riding crop and sidearm. This is the opening scene of the 1970 film "Patton".

He stands before an enormous 48-star US flag that has been painted on the back wall of a stage.

It's a hell of scene and a hell of a performance and it's dramatic, battle-loving message absolutely overshadowed what was intended to be an anti-war film about a pompous lunatic who was eventually relieved of command.

I made it an art 🫠🎨
A screengrab from the Jack Smith hearing.

Senator Schmitt sits at the dais, his arms crossed with a smug look on his stupid face. Behind him, his intern flunkie holds a large poster board that covers his face. To the right, Senator Cornpone P. Kennedy grasps a corner of the posterboard to insure he is part of the moment. The posterboard is a collage of text messages & photos of Fani Willis, Nathan Wade and Jack Smith that are supposed to be damning for Smith but backfires spectacularly.

I call it: "Three Clowns and a Rake"

I used a filter from Lunapic.com called "Leather" and then messed around with the curve color settings in Gimp.

Actually, my favorite moment is when Eric Schmitt couldn't handle Jack Smith taking notes. "What are you writing down there?"

I've watched 2.5 hours of this Jack Smith hearing. The republican's big idea that having access to his personal phone records would finally pay off, so far, has not. I've seen enough.

☕ Happy National Coffee Day! Today we’re celebrating with Cornish craftsmanship: this Newlyn copper pyramidal coffee pot (c.1890–1950), with cormorants, rocks and a fish motif, is stamped NEWLYN. A beautiful blend of function, artistry and Cornish heritage. 🐟🌊

I can tell you I don't have money.
But what I do have are a very particular set of skills,
skills I have acquired over a very long career.
Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you:

* I do not have a Spotify account
* I rarely go out
* I play cable news for background noise
* I am old
* I have never heard "Choosin' Texas"
