Cutest salt and pepper shaker couple from my collection. Made by Holt Howard, 1958.

Pair of ceramic salt and pepper shakers that are sitting outside on a wooden deck. They are mostly white shorthaired cats with very small dots of dark coloration on their ears and paws, indicating that they are probably supposed to be Siamese. Each one has a polkadot handkerchief around its neck, one is pink and the other is blue. They are highly stylized in a way that was popular in the late 50s through the 60s.

I became aware of this after the event and it's a dark spot on an otherwise bright evening. The ramp up to the stage accommodated wheelchairs but the ramp backstage apparently did not. I hope future worldcons make the effort to make every part of the Hugo ceremony accessible to everyone involved.
