One left-hemisphere stroke patient used tools correctly but struggled with physical reasoning, while another with apraxia showed the reverse. The split suggests the abilities can be independent.

If the relationship between a PI and postdoc is genuinely good, why should a union threaten it? Good mentorship shouldn't require postdocs have no collective voice. If anything, removing the potential for exploitation should make it easier to build healthy working relationships in academia.

How quickly we update our beliefs depends on the environment. This recently published work, shows that humans adjust their learning rates both rapidly, from recent prediction errors, and gradually, through environment-specific meta-learning—supported by representations in the orbitofrontal cortex.
