Aug. 14, 1926: René Goscinny, the French creator of Asterix, the tiny but brave ancient Gallic hero of Europe’s bestselling comic book series, is born in Paris. He wrote, and Albert Uderzo drew, the comics that used the setting of the Roman Empire to portray foreign cultures in humorous stereotypes.

No estoy en desacuerdo con la ponderación de Revolver, pero Rubber Soul no recibe el mismo amor y lo merece. En cualquier momento sale un remix y medio mundo flashea.

My family got dial-up internet in 1996 or 1997, I think. Maybe as early as 1995. I immediately took the opportunity to stock up on CDs of music no record store in my area would touch: authentic Austrian early music ensembles, heavy metal from around the world, etc. I thought it would change music

So much about living life is getting harder because we now have to jump through hoops in systems that were designed by technologists without a very good grasp of the humanities. People tuned into that aren't going to be very excited about stuff which makes coding easier! The coding's not the issue!

*sigh* here we go again. Your phone is not listening to everything around you 24/7 for advertising purposes. *If* you have voice activation on for the assistant, the mic is listening for the activation phrase: the processing power for listening for a single specific phrase is much lower.

Finally got to my January 2 rewatch of Get Back. Not a lot new that I haven't said before (some of which I'll repeat in subsequent posts here). But I'll start with this: I could watch 1,000 hours of this and never tire of it. I'm so grateful we have this for perpetuity.

Also, when reporters start talking about the chatbots this way, it is imperative to remind them they are basically asking a toaster for comment. They should be a lot more embarrassed about this than they currently are. “Grok told CNN…” no it didn’t. You typed stuff into an unreliable calculator.

Welp, looks like we're teaching the LinkedIn grindset people what The Onion is the hard way.
This is the sort of advertising I love.

- It's not very well targeted, because it doesn't need to be.

- It's not got a link to buy, or "find out more" or use promo code 10 , in order to merely be able to prove it's success

- It's not pretentious or ambitious or demanding or "smart" , it's just based in the reality of the world.

- It's calm, confident, noticeable, bold.

- It's what it needs to be.

I do wonder why we make everything so complicated.

Simple isn't easy, but it's essential.Onion ad for the National Pear Council:

Just curious, when was the last time you had a pear?

That long?

How come?
