In fairness a lot of people were trying to shoot Eminem in the late 90s. He recorded a whole track to release in the event Suge Knight has him killed.

Parliament doesn't routinely sit on Fridays and Monday sittings start mid-afternoon. Why? Because MPs 'leave Westminster' all the time and commonly work weekends in their constituencies. This kind of careless populist rhetoric helps nobody.

I do get this, but I also think the opposite is true. The most famous example being Harrison Ford on Star Wars dialogue "George, you can type this s**t, but you can't say it!". That's also the case in academia.

To be fair, while he has not put up an insulting plaque about Hu Jintao, he did have him dragged off stage by two goons at a party congress for trying to look at the wrong document. So I feel like he could.

Among other things, Turnitin is near-useless now. Plagiarism cases have dropped to near zero for obvious reasons. What they need is access to the proprietary watermarking of text Google, Anthropic etc. use. And what do they have to trade? Money obviously, but data could be quite the deal sweetener.

“The military has counseled me that it’s ESSENTIAL to have a 250-foot-tall watch tower hidden in a tourist attraction in the middle of an empty highway traffic circle in an unpopulated area on the edge of the District next to a military cemetery“
Simpsons meme, featuring Carl, with a nonplussed expression, speaking to Homer Simpson: "That never, uh, happened, did it, Homer?"

(In the scene, Carl is seen seated adjacent to Lenny in the workplace cafeteria, with each of them with a lunch tray on a table.)

He’s so hilariously bad at talking. What he’s trying to say is the scale of US actions around the world make it worse on net than a relatively small group of terrorists. But that is the opposite of what “pound for pound” means.

You can also think of the US judiciary as a sort of ablative heat shield for the rule of law. It works very well but over time, as more appointments get filled by lickspittles and toadies, it burns away and more cracks and holes appear. Eventually it fails catastrophically.
