For 3 years, Labor has told Australians there is nothing our government can do. The Red Lines Bill is a comprehensive package of actions the government must take to stop Australia’s complicity in the slaughter and make sure future governments can never go down the same road.

It’s maddening to see the abyss between the conscientious work of university educators and — well, whatever this is. Julie Hare at @crikey.com.au on the resignation of Julie Bishop as ANU chancellor. www.crikey.com.au/2026/05/08/j...
Bishop was also the only chancellor to have a separate office off-campus, which she justified by the fact that her predecessor, Gareth Evans, had an office in an ANU-owned building in Melbourne for a couple of years.
Gareth's office, however, didn't cost $800,000 to renovate. On ASIC documents, this office was also used as the address for Bishop's private company Julie Bishop & Partners, even though that business is registered to an address in Flinders Street in Adelaide's CBD.
Complicating this further is the fact that Bishop's two ANU-appointed staff to assist her in her duties as chancellor (even though no other ANU chancellor has had paid staff helping them to do their job) were simultaneously working for Julie Bishop & Partners.
Problematic? Yes. The explanation? An administrative error.
Let's not forget, either, that Bishop employed Murray Hansen, her current business partner and long-term staffer, to write speeches for her under an entity known as Vinder Consulting. The relationship was never declared.

As we'll be arguing in Crikey today, the real upshot of the NSW Court of Appeal's judgment yesterday invalidating those ridiculous anti-protest laws, it is Premier Chris Minns who is incompatible with democracy. He clearly doesn't understand his responsibility as a leader of elected government.

MOSS VALE, 146km from Central, is a key rural station serving a small but growing town. Its two platforms are uniquely far apart, with a car park, several heritage buildings and gardens in the middle. The station is accessed by footbridges leading through these buildings, with new glass lifts. (1/6)

Welcome to Queensland - the Censor State - where you can face up to two years’ imprisonment for a simple phrase.
Illustration of a young woman wearing a white shirt reading “From the River to the Sea,” standing calmly between two looming police officer silhouettes holding her arms. The officers appear large and shadowy behind her, while she is rendered in bright red and white tones, highlighting tension between protest speech and state authority.

This letter is 🎯. Groups like ECAJ and Zionist bodies do *not* speak for many Jews. They are also running a protection racket for Israel. This involves the dangerous deception of conflating Judaism with Israel's crimes, and antisemitism with criticism of Israel. Which only drives antisemitism.
