The Reformers’ prayer. My @smh cartoon.
Single frame. Title: “The Reformers’ Prayer”. On the left a man in a suit with hands clasped, head bowed but with one eye open, delivers a prayer to (on right) 6 more men in suits, some with one eye open and one passing a manilla envelope to another on the sly. The prayer: “Our faction of NSW Liberals - Reformers be our name. Our day will come; our policies done In government when we’re not in opposition. Give us this day our branches stacked. And forgive us our misuse of Catholic School funding, As we forgive those developers and hoteliers. Lead us not into progress But deliver us from “woke” For we are conservatives Wanting power and glory For ever and ever Ahhh… men.”

Two way street. My @smh cartoon.
Single frame. Title: “Two way street”. Scene: a road from foreground leading into distance. Left, a woman on a bicycle with a bag and backpack and a small child in a baby seat at the front, riding away from our viewpoint. At left, a series of roadside signs saying, “LEAVE AND I’LL MAKE YOUR LIFE HELL”; “LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO”; SHUT UP OR ELSE”; “BUT I LOVE YOU…”
On the right, driving toward us, a large truck driven by a barely visible man.

Two frames. 1. Barnaby Joyce as on TV turning to shout “SIDDOWN!” 2. Two dogs on grass beside a fence, one black and white, the other curly blond. Black and white one says: “I was only asking if he regretted hitching his wagon to an even bigger attention seeker…”

Holiday from reality. My cartoon in today's @theageaustralia.bsky.social and @sydmorningherald.bsky.social
A political cartoon by Megan Herbert showing a pile of mail, the kind you might see on the kitchen bench of a working class Australian who feels that they are sliding backwards in life, unable to afford the cost of living despite 'doing everything right', and whose frustration about this reality is causing them to turn away from the major political parties who must be to blame and towards an alternative minor party with no experience of governing that is nevertheless happy to harvest their rage and provide them with scapegoats for their anger (Immigrants! The elite! Indigenous Australians! Black and brown people! Multiculturalism!). On the top of the pile is a postcard from Pauline Hanson titled "Wish you were here!", showing her in different scenes enjoying her European vacation - High-fiving Tommy Robinson during an interview: "Fun times with the far, far right!"; floating in a pool with Gina Rinehart at a luxury Sicilian resort: "Poolside with my billionaire friends!"; being served champagne in a business class seat on a long haul flight: "Enjoying some of the perks of the job!". Beneath the postcard are various unopened bills marked with "balance overdue", "Collection notice" and "Final notice."

A place to live. My @smh cartoon.
Single frame. A graph, divided in the middle, with lower axis in months from Feb to Aug. Left vertical axis is percentages from 0 to 60% indicating “People who want house prices to fall” with graph line rising left to mid graph. On the right side, the vertical axis is in negative half percentage points from 0 to minus 3.5%, indicating “House prices following changes to CGT and negative gearing” with graph line going down from mid-graph to right .
Graph forms a roof shape. Beneath, a family of man, woman, small child, baby and dog, with window and door. Label above: “People just happy for a home to live in.”
