One of my most galaxy-brained takes is that politicians and political groups should talk more about workers’ share of national income. It's one of the clearest, simplest ways to describe how billionaires and corporate elites captured so much of the economy--and something policy can change.

-- This is classic performative politics of the likes seen by now former Prime Minister Keir Starmer, which just ends up annoying everybody. Comment & Analysis: The Department of the Taoiseach this afternoon issued what I can only describe as one of the most nonsensical Government statements. In reality, Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Tánaiste Simon Harris, and other Government Ministers are dancing on the head of a pin around the fact that all promatic scooter use is already illegal and the level of enforcement is not up to scratch.

The current Dáil has passed comparatively less legislation than any since the 1922 Dáil. Many of the laws they did pass were “guillotined”- ie, parliamentary debate was just stopped and the Govt members voted them through. The engine of Government has been left just ticking over, as policy.
