Saw this in London, and I love it. The bike hanger securely stores six bikes, using a single curbside parking spot. Huge help for those who can’t keep a bike in their home!

"The issue here pits those who think the development-friendly policies of the past in this area were a mistake that needs correction against a synagogue that wants to ensure its own future and reasonably argues that many of those who oppose the project actually live in high rises themselves."
Scott Stantis editorial cartoon for Wed, Sept 2, 2026, on Edgewater synagogue redevelopment (Scott Stantis/For the Chicago Tribune).

Caption reads: "Irony? What irony?!"

Editorial cartoon depicts a squat building labeled "Temple Emanuel Edgewater" among many grey highrises, in front of which two people hold a banner reading "No Highrises!".

First day of CPS! 🎒 Students at Senn High School are coming back to a safer street. CDOT transformed this intersection with raised crossings, curb extensions, bollards and a much smaller space for cars. Slower turns. Shorter crossings. Better visibility. Safer by design.
Tree-lined intersection at Glenwood and Ardmore near Senn High School in Chicago, featuring red-brick raised crossings, concrete curb extensions, and yellow bollards that narrow the roadway and shorten pedestrian crossings. People walk through the redesigned intersection, with the school visible through the trees in the background.
