An amazingly stark example of how the US economy has broken: Zaslav clears nearly a *billion* dollars amid a CEO tenure where he made basically anything he touched worse, harmed multiple prestigious brands, led huge layoffs—but delivered a corrupt merger for shareholders. variety.com/2026/tv/news...

ended up writing an ai policy page since apparently the rule saying "no llms" isn't enough tcrf.net/The_Cutting_... (there's more on the page itself, but this is enough to get the point across)
The Cutting Room Floor:AI policy

This page is intended to serve as an overall guide on The Cutting Room Floor's policy and site stance for "LLMs" and "generative AI", as an expansion to the rules. This policy also applies to our sister sites, including Data Crystal.

The simple version

1. Do not use LLMs or generative AI for content in any regard. Do not use LLMs for research, editing, writing, tooling, etc.

This shit is exactly why i stopped caring about decomp and recomp ports. What are we even doing here. There's no point to this if your vibe coded slop is going to be a worse experience than playing an official pc port that already exists or even just using emulation.

If it works, that's pretty cool; I didn't think
would ever see this implemented (I also didn't
expect LLMs to exist).
However, this is not something you can PR
here, or anywhere. You sent me a nearly 50k
line diff, unasked for, completely LLM built, and
you somehow expect me to review it. There is
SO MUCH unrelated garbage here. Never
minding all of the docs and Python, you've
somehow touched basically all of the upstream
HDL, which already had MSU1 support, so idk
what in the world you're doing.
This kind of behavior is not acceptable. You are
infringing on the time and brainpower of people
by pushing "your" content that little/no of your
brainpower went into; completely unrequested.
I hope for the sake of all responsible
maintainers that you do not do such a thing
again.
Again, I think it's cool that you and your LLM
supposedly got this to work. It has no place in
my world.

A 1987 arcade flyer for VS. Castlevania, a port of Konami's vampire busting adventure (minus the VS.) It came to North American arcades via Nintendo's VS. System which had also (quietly) introduced the Famicom to a new audience, testing the waters there since 1984 for an eventual NES rollout!
(arcade flyer sourced from The Arcade Flyer Archive: https://flyers.arcade-museum.com/videogames/show/2206)

ENTER ITS DARKNESS IF YOU DARE

Welcome to the shadows and hidden horrors of VS. Castlevania—the newest addition to Nintendo's VS. System. Its dark domain is home to some of the creepiest creatures you'll ever find among the living. . .or the dead.

But. first, you'll have to find him. And that won't be easy. You've got to getthrough 18 terrifying stages including six castle tloors before you reach the tower where he waits, thirsty for your blood.

Your Magic Whip and stolen weapons will help you is dodge and destroy the ghosts, ghouls and monsters that stand in your way. But when you reach the tower. get ready to go for the jugular before the Count goes for yours!

Using emulators is not "lazy" or "poor". For systems like the Jaguar CD it's often the only way to access them at all. But there is always some fuckwit gatekeeping "purist" out there. Well, take my advice: Fuck 'em. Life's too short to worry about that kind of bullshit.

Reviewing on an emulator is really poor and actually lazy.

Happy 40th anniversary, Castlevania! Konami's iconic, action packed nightmare kicked off an incredible run on this date in 1986. Japan's famous gaming weekly, Famitsu, celebrated its debut on the Famicom Disk System via a series of articles that followed in October to aid would-be vampire hunters!
This page describes the game, its many areas, and features a number of screenshots for Dracula's castle along with a few tips. It also celebrated the arrival of the game for the Famicom Disk System where it retailed for ¥2,980.A number of other stages are described on this page including a few words on describing the dangers ahead such as using Holy Water to deal with hunchbacks to taking care on crossing a crumbling, stone bridge. Watch out for those birds! This page belongs to the first of a series of more in-depth articles covering strategies on getting through the game in Famitsu's weekly magazine (also issued in October). This page describes the story of Simon Belmont's role in facing down Dracula who has awakened in 1876 after a century of sleep, his evil once more terrorizing the land from his 'demon castle'. A page from another series of articles later in October from Famitsu. This time, we're at the climax of the story! Dracula awaits and the page provides a few tips on how to fight him along with screenshots of the path to his dreaded lair.

The phrase “continuing our reset” strains the metaphor, the whole point of a reset is you press a button and it happens. But Microsoft may be thinking about it like Windows 11 where you have to install a bunch of shitty updates and it restarts like 3 times.
