x files unmade episode description: Untitled Tilt-A-Whirl story
Vince Gilligan proposed a story idea featuring a man holding an individual hostage on a Tilt-A-Whirl. Gilligan pitched this idea at several meetings and it soon became a recurring joke. Most of the comments Gilligan received noted that his premise lacked an explicit mystery to investigate and so Gilligan decided that after the ride was shut off, the man's head would explode. This idea later evolved into "Drive".[9]

Look, this is bad. Yes. But the Trump admin sent six (6) people to Maricopa and Pima. Where, by my count, there are 404 polling places, spread across 18,000 square miles (each county is ~9k sq mi). What they want is the FEAR to discourage the voting they can't actually prevent.

I don't love dunking on folks but it's so fucking funny to me that Trump was convicted of 34 felonies 2 years ago, faced no punishment, and went on to win the presidency a second time and journalists are still like, "hmm, I have an inkling that maybe he believes he's above the law for some reason."
Post from NYT reporter Eric Lipton

"What an odd moment in United States history.

A U.S. president is running an overtly political campaign advertisement, right before midterm elections, paid for by the U.S. government.

Trump appears to believe he is immune from any kind of legal limit."

I love Fallen London
Consume the gift
Your stomach growls.
This act defies categorisation, and will not grant a reward. Don't do it.
GODiscovery

The urchins watch, sullenly, as you drag the coffin away. A sulky crackle of thunder sounds from the roof of the Neath. Slivvy, the Stuttering Urchin with the liver-coloured birthmark, clutches his head.
Back in the sanctuary of your home, you feast. The thing's flesh has a texture somewhere between jelly and squid, laced with stringy gristle. Wine helps it go down. The fingers are boneless, and easier to man-age. Experimentally, you nibble on one of the intricate-ly-jointed tarsal bones. It is porous, and crumbles chalkily. Deep within the ribs, though, your questing crimson fingers discover a human heart, a human spine. Did he (it was a he) wreak these changes on himself? Was it an act of sacrament, or survival? After a certain point, you suppose the difference is irrele-vant.
You wrap the innards in greaseproof paper, tie it with string, store them in your larder. Tomorrow you can have leftovers.

You've gained 1 x Seeking Mr Eaten's Name (new total 79 - Damned).

Do you have to trust me? No. At your peril you do not. But recall: I was struck irrevocable by the dodgeball of prophecy
A screenshot of a Twitter thread from July 19, 2020, in which a man is told he is lying about being concerned roughly five and a half months before the Capitol riot. Josh Barro (@jbarro, verified) writes that he can't believe how much energy people put into the "will Trump accept the election results?" discourse, saying what people want is a verbal admission from Trump that he sucks. It has 160 replies, 162 retweets and 1.4k likes. Nick (derogatory) replies that it's more likely because the guy who controls the guns and all the executive departments isn't going to admit he lost, adding that his followers have a heavy majority of the guns in the country, and asks "You're not concerned about this?" It has 5 replies, 2 retweets and 63 likes. Barro replies, "No and neither are you." Nick (derogatory), who at this point has correctly described the next six months of American history in three sentences, replies, "I'm a little concerned!" Barro's final reply, displayed at large size and aging at the speed of milk, reads, "No you aren't, stop lying." Posted at 3:25 PM via Twitter Web App, with 3 retweets and 18 likes, which is 18 more people than Barro convinced.
