Hey everybody, I’m taking the advice of every elected official I’ve ever yelled at who’s said “if you think you could do such a good job why don’t you try running for office”. Schools are super important for all of us, not just those of us with kids in the system, and I’m excited to fight for them.

The audacity to scoff at this question when a journalist on the hill just affirmed they were given access to this MORE THAN 200 PAGE bill less than 30 MINUTES before this press conference. How the fuck do you ask informed questions under those conditions? Spoiler: you can't.

Mark Carney is privatizing airports and allowing foreign investors (mainly American) to buy up the country. Slashing corporate tax rates and offering up vast amounts of resources for mining and extraction corporations. The country is for sale. Liberal voters were duped.
UST IN: Canada has announced to reduce marginal effective tax rate on new business investment to 6.4% from 13%, the lowest among the G7, and half the rate in the US, per the Globe and Mail

The changes will take effect right away and remain permanent.@sarobertson_

Mark Carney on airport privatization: "We will seek private investment through long-term concessions to operate Canada's four largest airports, following best practice in other countries. The Government of Canada will retain ownership of the underlying land and assets."@KatusaResearch
Canada handed 300 of the world's biggest investors a 66-page pitchbook this week

▪️167 projects worth about US$425 billion

▪️63 of them are MINES

That's more than the clean energy, oil and gas, and data-centre chapters combined.

Very cool that Shopify’s CEO thinks the poor should have far less of a vote than the rich. Still worth that ad read money, folks?
Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke says “good system.” In response to the following proposal:

“Interesting... what about weighted voting proportional to the level of income tax you pay? (no income tax paid - O vote, $1-100k - 1 vote, $100-200k 2 votes and so on... cap it at 5 votes for $500k+. For those that constantly complain about the wealthy not paying tax/fair share they'd have nothing to worry about right? Why not reward representation of taxation and build a democracy around those that foot the bill?”
