Saw ANOTHER person say my indictment was the best thing to happen to my campaign. Let me be clear: It severely limited what I could say, where I could go, and what I could do. I had to worry about prison AND legal fees for myself AND my (amazing) field director. Political prosecutions aren’t fun.

The failure there though is that a lot of capital believes them being forced to bear ANY RISK is completely unacceptable, which then forces the question "So of what use are you? If we just wanted a sure thing we could government fund it"

grimm 🎃 @mugrimm.bsky.social · 2h
The thing to remember is this kind of public whining is great for the left because when you distill down to its most basic essence why the median American is okay with the failures of capitalism, the answer is broadly "Well who is going to take a risk if they can't potentially get rewarded?"

Yeah that's pretty much what I'm saying. At some level human effort does need to sort and make decisions and overloading it with shitty vibe coded stuff makes it useless to search because the volume is absurd.

The AI boosterism is getting fucking annoying. AI does have capacity and is doing things but the complete lack of vetting and verifying by large stochastic groups who want to worship the computer god and do not care about accuracy or infrastructure is annoying as fuck.

I promise you, the first person to truly clone a free Adobe with identical menu placement, accuracy, and utility I will be shouting it from the fucking rooftop lol.

grimm 🎃 @mugrimm.bsky.social · 2h
If someone is telling you it is 'identical', what they really mean is they've dabbled with adobe products and the menus look the same. There's accuracy issues and the clones also run like shit.
1273
grimm 🎃 @mugrimm.bsky.social · 2h
I've seen YET AGAIN another round of people claiming the Adobe AI clones are 'good' who have clearly never used them or alternatively never used Adobe products for professional reasons. Every headline is about how it's replaced Adobe and yet it 100% does not right now.
1273
grimm 🎃 @mugrimm.bsky.social · 2h
Basically a LOT of digital infrastructure always relied on the fact that the effort of learning to code was great enough you could assume good faith and AI has changed that, often with worse products.
1315
grimm 🎃 @mugrimm.bsky.social · 2h
You see a similar dynamic with bug hunting for bounties. Companies have taken down their programs and people keep rejoicing saying it's because AI has made shit more secure, but it has not, what's happened is now every tech company gets flooded with bullshit product and even AI review is too slow.
1275
grimm 🎃 @mugrimm.bsky.social · 2h
I can't speak for this community but I think saying it's because AI has made it 'easy' is possibly still missing that in the software realms I'm familiar with the issue is not that AI is too good but that you get swamped with vibecoders who are fucking awful and you get saturated with bad product.

There is no way to explain who the Bronze Age Pervert is in conversation without causing the person listening to, at least for a moment, question your sanity.

“There’s this guy who posts pseudonymously under the name ‘Bronze Age Pervert,’ but he’s also no longer really pseudonymous, and has a PhD in philosophy from Yale.” What does he post about? “Like fascism and authoritarianism, and thinly veiled white supremacy, but about how hot and aesthetic the male physique is. And while everyone suspects he’s gay, he also writes homophobic stuff. He self-publishes books that a lot of people have read and he has a podcast called Caribbean Rhythms where he talks in a fake Russian accent, even though he’s from Romania. He’s got a big following, and a lot of influential far-right people are really into him. No, really,” is roughly how it goes.

Worth noting that the only reason AB has not boycotted California wine is that the provincial liquor industry is fully privatized, and that many private retailers are de facto boycotting American liquor anyway. Smith’s government cannot help Schiff in any meaningful way.

It is important to emphasize that soldiers were present, that they aided and abetted the settlers, and that nobody will be charged. There is no such thing as accountability under this illegal occupation. Not a single soldier or settler has been convicted of murder since 2019.
