I was later in usual answering this, because I knew I was going to the Museum with friends yesterday, so could also include a selfie with our *drumroll* Piper J-3 Cub! One of the popular and iconic civilian planes, they're wonderful for basic flight training and stick and rudder flying at its best 😁

Good morning and Happy New Year y'all 🎉🎉🎉 I figured there's no better way to kick us off than with the type of airplane I started my flight training in :-) Legit love that we have a beautiful example of one at the Museum. What's your guess? Would also love to hear anyone's stories about them too 👀

No post this week, mainly because I'm I'm traveling, but I am wishing a very Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, and my best wishes for all. Please enjoy Squatchie Claus catching a ride to visit gifts to all the good l'il Cryptids in its stead :-)
Squatchie Claus is a pastel drawing I did of a Sasquatch in a red Santa hat with green bag of gifts on his back. He's catching a ride on the back of an F-15 in full afterburner heading into the clouds.
The Christmas lettering in alternating red and green reads "Happy Holidays from Squatchie Claus" in the top left, and "Jetting off to deliver gifts to all the good l'il Cryptids" across the bottom.
Spoiler alert all l'il Cryptids are good!

You need no special holiday or celebration to treat others with respect and compassion. If it is something you only practice at certain times, then you have misunderstood the reason for doing it. Every day is worthy of living honorably.

Congratulations to @gothcaptain.bsky.social and @sratoz.bsky.social for the correct identifications and @funranium.bsky.social for the correct descriptions :-) While our X-15 is a model, it was the engineering model used for wind tunnel tests, and the F-101 is the very first production model!

These are both artifacts at the Evergreen Air and Space Museum in McMinnville, and I'd love to know your guesses for both of either. Thank you to @spotto.bsky.social, @tqft.bsky.social, @sratoz.bsky.social, @poopraven.bsky.social, and @badbeard.bsky.social for playing along and your wonderful guesses! This is indeed a Concorde, one of the most amazing aircraft ever built. I saw one at JFK's terminal once, but sadly never flying.

Welcome to another edition of #MuseumMysteryMonday on a *checks calendar* Tuesday. (Yesterday was a lot, y'all!) I look forward to your guesses on this beast rocking some old school Blue Angel livery, and especially appreciate getting to reminisce about sunny days at the Museum too, lol

And literally everyone has already answered below, this is indeed the F-117 that Evergreen unveiled just last month. This particular one dropped the first bombs of both Operation Just Cause and Desert Storm. Here are some more shots of it too, it's anticipated to take 2 years to restore it!

Good morning all, and welcome to a very special edition of #MuseumMysteryMonday! This is our most recent acquisition at the Evergreen Air and Space Museum, it's going to need two years to fully restore, and is one of only nine currently displayed at civilian museums! Let me know your guesses!
An unpainted jet aircraft with lots of angles. The leading edges have been removed, leaving the underlying metal showing which is 50's Fridge green color, while the rest of the skin is more silver.

Having now had a chance to take a look at the likely culprit, assuming a repetition of the previous incident, all I can say is You Completely Irresponsible Fucks. I am having flashbacks to yelling at Naomi Wu for irresponsible deployment of germicidal UV designs in 2020.

Welcome to another episode of of #MuseumMysteryMonday! Today's artifict is again from the Evergreen Air and Space Museum, and is the green beast in this Pic. Let me know your guesses, answer will be Wednesday :-) (Bonus points for naming the rocket behind it too!) #AvGeek #planespotting #easm
Inside the Evergreen Air and Space Museum's Space Wing. There is a tall green rocket as the focus, with a larger rocket behind it, and a capsule, rocket engine, and first generation rocket drone in the blurred foreground.
A couple figures at the rocket's base give a perspective on how tall it is.

Congratulations to @penwrites.bsky.social and @apbohn.bsky.social for correctly identifying this as a VC-9C, the Air Force's executive transport version of the DC-9. (And honorable mention to @funranium.bsky.social for the close guess too!) While we don't think any presidents flew on it…
