Grimly funny that GPEW managed about 6 months of serious improvement and then decided that was quite enough and it was time to step on every rake going, good work folks, there's only a climate crisis and rising fascism, nobody needed a successful party of climate action and social liberalism

current Burnham-o-meter 🧵 Overall doing quite a good job (certainly compared to his predecessors) but still work to be done. See thread for my reasoning.

This is good, important reporting. If the situation were reversed though, I doubt 'Terrorist attack' would be in quotation marks. The Guardian would be perfectly comfortable calling it what it is in the headline.

Glasgow's drug consumption room has dealt with 195 medical emergencies since it opened last year. It saves lives. Drug addiction and misuse is a health crisis. We need a major expansion of harm reduction and treatment services, including safe consumption facilities.
The National. Experts reject attacks on The Thistle and call for bolder drug death action. Experts have agreed that drug consumption rooms like The Thistle are "without a doubt" saving lives.

God this is so embarrassing
SNP minister Tom Arthur is now concluding for the Scottish Government.

He says: "We are in the early days of a parliamentary term where it is quite possible that artificial intelligence will be something that we will have to contend with, and I do not think it is hyperbolic or an exaggeration to say that this may be one of the most profound moments, not just in recent history but in human history, where we have developed technology which is cognitively equal to us, if not superior to us."

Not only would this criminalise the use of Gaelic in Scottish elections, it would threaten to jail anyone who uses British Sign Language in a campaign video. At their first whiff of power Reform's priority is to make our democracy less accessible and threaten their political opponents.
