Cregger's Resident Evil is a good example of "Fast Body Horror." In the 80s, a lot of Body Horror was "slow" because in order to execute a special effect, there was one gimmick per shot, so transformation sequences had many cuts and emphasized the mechanics of the gimmick.

The TV List debacle is very silly, man - getting more acquainted with said Medium, I like the longer runtime one uses to narrate their Vision, compared to Film. Also, very obviously, company-made Lists are not needed for TV or Cinema in general. That's the thing about making your own opinion!

I appreciate many of the film released by Mubi and A24, but this is grim stuff. I hope Neon can continue to resist funding from entities like Thrive, DeepMind, and Sequoia Capital, a venture capital firm with ties to the Israeli military--which cost it 200K subscribers in 2025, acc. to Screen Daily.

Several other studios considered buying “Artificial,” including the indie A24, which seemed like a natural fit. But among that company’s backers are Josh Kushner’s firm Thrive Capital — also one of OpenAI’s backers — and, as of June, Google’s DeepMind A.I. division, which invested about $75 million in A24. Ultimately, Neon picked up the film, which will open in limited theaters at the end of this year before a wider release in early 2027.
