it failed more because they went about polling it really badly than bc people dislike it imo, to the point where there are about 5 different good reasons against it (they removed the pvp version without any option to vote for it, and didnt clarify/poll any common questions about the mode)

okay now replicate that exact same argument except about religious people and you have my point. most are just people with beliefs, the exact same as most atheists are. some are really annoying, some genuinely impact the world in terrible ways. religions are larger, therefore have a larger impact.

I'd still like to hear a definition in your own words but regardless I think it's an admirable position. Just dont end up swept away by it like some have been in the past, one of my core beliefs is that people are more similar than they think, even with contradicting views. dogma can affect anyone

Tbh I've never seen that, but I have no particular reason to doubt that it happened. The leftist spaces I've been in both online and in person however have been nothing but welcoming to all, generally including religious people, which I see as ideal.

So your definition of "reddit atheism" is just promoting a fair critique of all religion? I agree in principle but for me it's more of a matter of priorities - it IS an important issue but I would focus more on the decades-long christian nationalist project, the rising tide of fascism etc

No I'm not I just find it counterproductive to paint the world in such broad strokes. Like imagine a guy who yells at any furry in public that their fursona isn't real. what's the point of that. (in this world there are a very real group of ultra powerful furries who actually deserve your attention)
