Part of why healthy people aren't afraid to get sick is- they think if they do develop long-term issues, they'll be able to go & get treated by doctors who will work day and night to fix them (as it was on House, M.D.) & don't realize there's a 99% chance they'll be told they just have anxiety

Hospitalizations and deaths are trailing indicators. We won't know what those numbers are for the acute infection stage of the current surge until at least February, and we won't know about disability deaths from long term harm for months.

In 2021, I gave testimony and evidence under oath in an Ontario courtroom that COVID was airborne and thus we need to take airborne precautions. The other side's expert was a doctor from Public Health Ontario who argued the opposite. I will never stop retelling this story.

My father's last bout of COVID definitely left him with dementia, and it's one of the many reasons I can't understand folks being cavalier about catching and transmitting this virus - especially since enabling that basically ensures increased resistance to Paxlovid and more vaccine escape variants.
