I am organizing drafts for eventual finishing and I forgot that I wrote this. But I don't regret it Ah, Belar. I miss you

“Whatever you call it,” Belar began, testily, “it seemed unusual. I assume there aren’t many things that can do that to a vampire.”
“I wouldn’t know. I’ve never felt its like.”
“Just before you… succumbed, shall we say? Is that a better word?” Belar ignored the lukewarm glare that Cassian leveled at him. If he wasn’t going to put in the effort then there was no point in paying him any mind.

Some things I wish I had known when I was a new writer: Being accepted by traditional publishers has less to do with skill than whether they think they can sell it. Just because publishers aren’t ready for a story doesn’t mean readers aren’t. Writing the book is the easy part. 🧵
