Additionally, this effect is intersectional! Our at-health-risk-peers have asked us to mask to help them. Our at-abduction-immigration-risk peers have asked us to stand with them and observe, prevent. It is all community and it all matters. Please, expand your community actions to intersectionality!

We are not unlucky. To our government, we were and continue to be an acceptable, expected outcome of their Covid management (or total lack thereof) policy. That is not luck. That is intention.

We know we’re undercounting long covid patients, and the estimates are up to 20 million in the US. You may think you don’t know anyone with long covid, but every person I tell about my condition says “oh yeah I have a friend who never got their smell back” that is also long covid.

Thankfully someone was there to connect her with resources and hopefully she'll get much-needed support. When you see recent stories about ICE changing tactics, this is what those tactics look like. Quietly abducting people from courthouses with no resistance at all, upending lives in the process.

If you’re still wearing a mask, thank you. Please know you’re not alone. Many of us still mask, test and isolate when sick. Being the lone masker can be difficult, but your long term health is worth it. As a high risk, immunocompromised person… I see and appreciate you.

Yes! Word on the streets is that many Nice Ride employees ended up at HC, because shared mobility is a unique skillset. The amount HOURCAR needs is very small compared to other transit funding; and it is incredibly impactful to our neighbors if this org disappears.

In January I committed to mosque watch, every Friday. That little group is still going, every Friday, since January. The community waves hello and thanks us for being there, even though they don’t know our names. We are in this for the long haul. You can do this, too!

Chicago's "surge" supposedly ended over a year ago. It's still happening and the police are still complicit. That's still happening in Minnesota - we just don't have the volunteers to go "hey look at what they're doing" at the moment. Please get involved again.

What irritates me most about the "covid is no big deal" crowd is that there's growing evidence that unexplained neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's are actually caused, at least in part, by repeated exposure to viral pathogens over a lifetime.

On January 14, CBP agents pulled into a UMN parking lot and blocked the intersection in front of the Humphrey School, but UMN continued to claim there was no ICE activity on campus. With today's conference in this building, let's not forget the U's dangerously muddy comms during that time
A black suburban stopped across two crosswalks at the 19th Ave S and 3rd St intersection, with the Humphrey School building in the background Five masked agents wearing tactical gear standing in the intersection

Better yet, wear an N95 mask when sharing indoor air with others, and double down on the use of air purifiers. For the most cost effective solution, build a box fan air purifier. If you want a quiet air purifier, I recommend a Brisk Box from @cleanairkits.bsky.social .
