Canada again allowed an aircraft carrying Netanyahu to enter its territory & use its airspace, in defiance of the #ICC warrant against the Israeli leader. I hope FM Anand makes clear: did she approve this? Does she believe those wanted by the #ICC are free to use our airspace?

This is exactly how the right creates popular support for taking away women’s rights. They position anyone with empathy for Clancy as the reason why women shouldn’t vote, serve on juries, have autonomy, or even exist in public. And they use this as propaganda to make those positions seem reasonable.

a note on the incorporation of my work in a recent torah.com article and the directions I notice regarding the captive in Deut 21. First, the historiography of the captive is changing. No one is speaking about the rituals as some sort of change in ethnic identity. I owe that to my JFSR article.

Obviously, there is an enormous media demand for this sort of "Charlie Brown had hoes" analysis of higher education in which random opinions on social media get mainstreamed by the press (explains Tyler's post-academia career). But it doesn't make any of this true.

It's very interesting how Tyler is trying to memory-hole the mid-late 20th century history of the culture wars and anti-academia backlash. A better explanation for gigification is that it was in part a 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞 to the democratization of higher ed & the ascendency of cultural knowledge within it.
