I’ve bounced off Stardew so many times, but Fields of Mistria is clicking so far! Really charmed by the art style and writing. Playing on the Thor is also probably helping. As per usual, there are way too many great games out there and not enough time. We’ve got it good.

I did not expect to beat MGS2 this morning, but it turns out about an hour of cutscenes pairs pretty well with a cup of coffee. Spectacular experience. As soon as the game began to interrogate Raiden as a character I leaned WAY in. Super heady, super strange, super ahead of its time. On to MGS3!

The new Spider-Man movie is the first super hero flick since Spider-Verse to give me that “I’m a kid again” feeling. Its cinematography, script, even its use of various Marvel characters - all great! I’m still just smiling.

Joanna Stern, NBC’s chief technology analyst and author of “I Am Not a Robot: My Year Using AI to Do (Almost) Everything,” has documented the creep of AI dependency in daily life. Her reporting has shown how users begin with low-stakes queries, such as what to cook for dinner or what to wear, and gradually escalate to consequential decisions about careers, finances, and relationships. The trajectory from convenience to reliance is difficult to reverse once established.

Thanks to this remake, I can now say that Star Fox is about leadership, teamwork, and legacy. It's about trusting your instincts and forging your own path. It's about a fuzzy, feathery, slippery band of mercenaries who are up for saving the day (so long as they can make some money while they do it).

As Nintendo's multi-media "Disney Era" continues to thrive, the importance of maintaining its various IPs couldn't be more critical. Star Fox 2026 fully earns a MISSION ACCOMPLISHED title card at the end of what I'm sure was a multi-year battle to reintroduce this franchise to players young and old.

Characters once memorable for their one-liners or insistence on barrel-rolls now have more presence, more flaws, *character arcs*. And the Lylat System itself is granted more complexity and history - even history some of the higher-ups in the Cornerian Defense Force may not want publicized.

Previously I would have described Star Fox as an on-rails shooter pulling from blockbusters like Star Wars & Independence Day, but this new entry repaints 64 with such vibrant colors that I feel the franchise now has a strong enough identity to stand alongside the other tentpole series at Nintendo.

Though I can't say that another remake of Star Fox 64 is something more players my age needed, I think it may have been *exactly* what Nintendo needed to confidently plant a flag in the ground and declare "THIS is Star Fox and THESE are its characters, stakes, and tone!"
